What was life like before you met Jesus?
Before I met Christ, I was raised in the church all my life, and I knew who Christ was but didn't fully understand him. I was a very self-centered and selfish person. I was so focused on my glory and popularity that I just left God out. I was always too afraid to talk about God or call anyone out on sin.
How did you meet Jesus?
I met Christ at the last YTH CON and baptisms. I became way closer to Christ at YTH CON and I got to know him better. Then that following Sunday it was baptism Sunday and as I was watching the baptisms, I was so inspired. I could feel God working and I realized that this life is not for me and my glory, but Christ's glory. Galatians 2:20 says “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” I want to be baptized to publicly express my love and faith for Christ, and because Christ is my God and that is what he commands his followers to do.
After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?
After being saved, I have been more encouraged to share the gospel and help others struggling with their sin. One thing that reminds me to live for Christ is this quote by C.T. Studd, ”only one life, `twill soon be past; only what's done for Christ will last.” With God, I also know that, no matter what people think about me, I am always accepted and loved by Christ and one day all hate, judgment, and sin will be gone forever and we will have a perfect life with Christ in heaven.
