What was life like before you met Jesus?

It’s hard to remember because I was so young. My parents read the Bible to me and prayed with me even before I asked Jesus into my heart. My life was good, my family was fun and caring (even my grandparents), I just knew less about Jesus.

How did you meet Jesus?

I remember my dad talking about Jesus and what it is like to have Jesus in your heart. I was only 5, but I still wanted what my dad was talking about. I knew I could be God’s friend with Jesus in my heart. I prayed next to my Dad to not be separated from God by sin and accepted that Jesus died and rose again to bring me to God.

I am saved by Jesus, and I want to be a part of the church. Baptism represents what Jesus did in washing away my sins and giving me newness of life forever. I want to stay on track with the church. I want to move forward in my faith.

After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?

I have dyslexia. Sometimes I pray and ask Jesus to help me keep trying when school is hard. Knowing that he is with me is encouraging and comforting. Because I have dyslexia, we read the Bible together as a family. We worship with hymns and through learning scripture. If I feel guilty about something, I know God is speaking to my heart gently. I bring things up to my parents.

Also, I learn about how God made me. I see that he gave me certain gifts in art and animal care. I really get excited about color and drawing. I get excited about animals, and I care for them very well. God helps me to have a gentle and appreciative heart toward people. I am glad to help my grandma who is a widow now. I also really like helping with the kids in the pre-K class on Sunday mornings. I see how God has made me and wants to use me in the world. I know I will keep learning from Jesus.
