What was life like before you met Jesus?

Before I met Jesus I was on a very self-centered path — one with no humility, no sense of the hole in my life that would never be filled with work, wealth, or stature. I had no idea what a foundation built around the gospel would or could mean. I had loving parents and family but knew nothing of the Church, community, or that my eternal salvation was at stake. It was modeled to me that value in this life is found in achieving wealth or status and I was completely ignorant of my sin. I had no desire to attend church and no reason to believe in God. Half of my family believed in God and Jesus Christ and the other half blamed "organized religion" for the world's ills. I was lost and didn't know it.

How did you meet Jesus?

I met Jesus through my wife Kimberly. God very specifically put the two of us together in ways that couldn't have been more obvious that he was there, and that there is a plan for me. The Holy Spirit moves, works, and radiates through her in such a contagious way that you want to submit to Christ, ask for forgiveness for your life before, and start anew as a faithful servant and everyday disciple. Through her, he has shown me (and so many others) joy and hope. Romans 15:13 says, "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope"

After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?

When I accepted Jesus, I found the me became we or them. I found just how much good could be accomplished and lives were affected by putting the needs of others ahead of my own sinful desires. Sunday sermons felt like they were being written for me at exactly the time I needed to hear them. I saw God’s works each day through others. My trust in him fulfills me. I want to be a good and faithful servant so I can be a better man, husband, father, and friend. Psalm 32:10 says, "Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the Lord."
