What was life like before you met Jesus?
I was raised in the Catholic Church so I knew of Jesus but always believed being a "good" person or rather, that my works would save me.
How did you meet Jesus?
Later in my college years and a couple of years after college, the Holy Spirit started to question in my heart some of the teachings of my Catholic faith. In the summer of 1991 my then-girlfriend (now wife) and I went to the Galena Bible Church and the sermon seemed to be directed at me. All of my questions that the Holy Spirit was weighing on my heart were being answered directly from The Bible - not from "religious teaching". John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world that he gave His only Son, that whoever believes in His Son shall not perish but will have eternal life.” That was the day I gave my life to Jesus.
After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?
There is such a joy of having that personal relationship with Jesus. I have the desire to do His will. Although there still are tough times in life, Jesus has been the One who has carried me through. I trust in Him and through that trust I know there might be tough days but Jesus has my back and because of Him even on those tough days I can proclaim - like my father-in-law always said "Hallelujah"! Joshua 1:9 says, “Be strong and courageous do not be terrified for the Lord our God is with you wherever you go.”
