What was life like before you met Jesus?

I grew up in the church and I got baptized at a young age but I didn’t truly know what I was doing. Like I knew in my head it was the right thing to do but I didn’t fully know with my heart what I was doing. So when I got to middle school and high school I started to feel like something was missing and instead of looking to God, I looked to friends, guys, and anything else that I thought was gonna fill that hole.

How did you meet Jesus?

I fell away from my faith in high school. I started living a life in my sin and my desires. I ended up making choices that were not the best for me. After graduating college I got involved with Salt Company but would only partially pursue a relationship with God and with people. I was still living in my sin. But after going to the Salt Conference last January and getting more involved with Salt and Veritas, I’ve noticed that the more I give to God the smaller that hole gets. I came to Christ at a young age but that faith never fully came alive until now. “Even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ by grace you have been saved” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:5‬

After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?

I have more of a fire for Christ than I have ever had. I know my good works don’t win me favor with God, however, he does delight in my obedience to him, so I have been reading the Bible more, praying more, I have talked to more strangers about coming to Salt Company and my faith than I have in my entire life. I am not perfect and God doesn’t expect that of me, but because of Him I am accepted, loved, cherished, and a child of God. My identity is in Christ and I never want to forget that. “See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.” ‭‭1 John‬ ‭3:1‬
