What was life like before you met Jesus?

I felt that I needed approval from others, often through the party scene. I valued work over most things.

How did you meet Jesus?

World fulfillment consistently left me feeling empty. Throughout high school, I had loosely attended youth groups so I knew of God but was never serious about it. After starting down a tough path I quickly realized I needed something better. Through Veritas and Salt Co I've met people that live christ-centered lives and through that have helped me grow in my faith and make it my own. Luke 15:3-7 is a great example of how even when we're nothing living how God has called us, He continues to pursue us with love and rejoicing.

“So he told them this parable: “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’ Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.”

After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?

Through Christ's love, I've learned how to live without the need for others' approval. John 5:24 explains how believing and living it out will result in our lives with him forever. Throughout John, he reiterates that by believing we are saved to eternal life with Christ. The reiterating it represents the significance of having faith in Jesus’ birth, life, death, and resurrection.
