What was life like before you met Jesus?
I was living life for myself. I was pretty happy in my sin but I knew it was wrong. I tried to focus on being good but still wouldn't make good choices and couldn't stop. I needed God but did not follow Him, I had turned away from Him.
How did you meet Jesus?
We had a Bible study one morning about salvation and we were talking about how important it is to be a Christ follower. One of the verses brought up was John 3:16 which says "For God so loved the world that he sent his only son so that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." I felt for the first time that somebody cared for me more than my parents, and I knew that if He cared about me that much, I'd better get to know Him more. I should love Him and know Him. So I prayed and confessed that I was a sinner and that I needed God, I really needed His help. God answered my prayer and entered my heart. I started living more Christlike and doing my work for the Lord instead of myself.
After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?
My life has been changed. I still struggle, I get angry and sin. But I have a feeling of fullness in my heart and it makes me believe there's a reason to keep going. There's a reason to keep on living for Christ, because there's a hope that I will go to heaven and live with Him eternally. Death is scary, but as I start getting into the Word more, I believe more deeply and understand what Jesus did, and I am not afraid. I will be living for Christ only. While I think about these things, I think about John 3:16. It is a very impactful verse to me and I know Jesus died for me and everyone on the whole earth.
