What was life like before you met Jesus?
Before I met Jesus I was lonely and craving acceptance through worldly things. Such as trying to be as successful as possible, needing to be accepted by friends, and trying to fit in. I grew up in church so I had all the knowledge and said I was a believer but nothing in my life outside of Sundays reflected that of a Christian. I was wrapped up in worldly things, thinking that I just needed a successful job and friends..
How did you meet Jesus?
I truly met Jesus through a family tragedy and God used my wife to draw me to Him. My family member was the one directly affected by the tragedy and watching that situation change her life completely led me to truly meet Jesus and ignite a fire to learn and dive into the gospel for the first time in my life. I saw Jesus work through the people directly affected by the tragedy and saw how he brought peace through a difficult time and that led me to fully trust him and that he is in control of all situations.
After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?
Because of Jesus, my life is completely different now. I no longer crave worldly things as I have in the past, I no longer want to fit in with the world and have the desire to stand out as a follower of Jesus. Every decision I come across now in everyday circumstances makes me take a second and truly think if this is glorifying God or not. 1 John 2:17 says "The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever." Before being saved I wanted to fit in with the world and desired worldly things but after being saved it is the total opposite and I will always be grateful.
