What was life like before you met Jesus?
Before I met Christ, I was living for things of this world and I found a lot of my hope in being a great athlete and trying to impress others. I was always trying to outwork others in order to get what I thought mattered in life. I tried to make everything about me and I wanted to be something that I wasn't.
How did you meet Jesus?
I met Jesus when I was forced to give up basketball and other things I loved to do because of health issues. I trusted Christ to change my heart to not lean on and put my identity in sports but to put it in him. I trusted in Christ to help me get through the physical and mental pain with the verse Hebrews 13:8 "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday today and forever". This verse gave me hope to realize he will be by my side through it all.
After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?
After being saved, nothing else matters except Him. I can rest in knowing his will for my life is not found in sports and that there is nothing I can do to make him love me more. Ephesians 2:8-9 says "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast.” I now have eternal life in Christ and nothing can make me more happy than that.
