What was life like before you met Jesus?
Before meeting Jesus, I was struggled with gossip and insecurity, and didn’t understand or care how much it hurt God and other people.
How did you meet Jesus?
Around the time of YTH CON, something switched in me, and I wanted to learn about God and how much I need him. I started to understand that my sin is significant and matters to God. His son had to die on the cross for my sin. I started to understand that God is always at work in my life for his purposes, he sees me, and he cares for me. I want to show people how much I love God and because I feel like I have grown a lot in my fatih this year.
After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?
God has helped me to gossip less, I don’t need to say those things. He has helped me humble myself and show empathy in difficult conversations with my friends, rather than defend myself. My identity is no longer found in what other people think of me, but instead what God thinks of me. I give way more thought to my words and prioritize honesty and kindness. I still compare myself to people, but I’m turning to God when I do. Romans 10:9 says that “if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” I believe that he did that and that he is coming back again.
