What was life like before you met Jesus?
I grew up in a Christian home with parents that always pointed me to Christ. But, as I grew older into my teenage years, church became more of a routine. I had begun to put God into a box and it left me to go through the motions of life all on my own. The world around me was pulling me in different directions and there was no way to make it stop.
How did you meet Jesus?
In college, I started to attend Salt Company. When I heard about the Salt Company conference in Des Moines I felt the urge to go. It was during worship night that I felt the Holy Spirit overcome me with this sense of emotion and peace. I felt like for the first time I truly wanted to know Him personally not just know about Him generally. God was showing me that He had never left but was calling me back to Him. Ephesians 1:13 states "In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit."
After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?
Even knowing I am not in control of this life, I'm not afraid. Christ is right there through all of life's highs and lows. Knowing that He will never leave me and that I am His child gives me joy that nothing in this world can ever manifest. John 1:12 states "But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”
