What was life like before you met Jesus?
Growing up in a small Lutheran church (started by my grandparents) and being treasurer there for over 30 years - I knew about Jesus and believed I would be saved by his death on the cross for my sins. Even through the rough times of my life I rarely missed church and followed all the teachings of the Lutheran Church.
How did you meet Jesus?
After getting remarried 17 years ago and our kids going to a non-denominational church, and going to church with them at times I started to see that we weren't growing in our faith and were becoming the "go to church on Sunday and check that box people". After attending Veritas for a few weeks it became clear that there was a whole lot about the Bible I didn't know. Shortly after that, we joined a connection group, this was one of the best things we did to learn more about Jesus. It has brought us closer to the people in the group and I also learn a lot every time we attend our connection group. The intense study of different books of the Bible has really become an important part of our lives. John 11:25 says “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live.’”
After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?
I feel that Jesus has been with me every step of the way when I know he is and also when I am not sure at the time. I feel that the has helped me in my second marriage and has brought me close to him through our joining Veritas Church. We are learning every day and look forward to attending church every Sunday and learning more. John 20:29 says “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed”. We have this verse hanging on our wall where I see it every day.
