What was life like before you met Jesus?

I’ve always known about Jesus for as long as I can remember. I grew up in a Christian home, went to church, was involved in FCA, etc. but got completely disconnected from him throughout college – essentially I drifted completely away. Prior to genuinely pursuing him, I was chasing success, recognition, and financial reward. Everything I pursued was short-lived, temporary, and unfulfilling.

How did you meet Jesus?

Through Veritas and my connection group, I've really gotten to know and understand who Jesus is as my Lord and Savior, with far more depth. In John 14:6-7, Jesus says “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.” I'd say, growing up, I knew it was important - and Jesus was good. However, it wasn't until the last 6-7 years that I would say I started to be more intentional about really pursuing Jesus – largely because of my involvement at Veritas, my connection group, and surrounding myself with people who live for him. I really grasped the magnitude and beauty of Jesus, who he is, and what he did for me. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in The Lord with all your Heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”

After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?

After being saved, I’ve seen the eternal goodness of Jesus and am continually reminded of just how good he is. Not only as the ultimate provider and savior but his glory and greatness has given me perspective, peace, and more sustainable joy. As a habitual sinner, and someone who's easily distracted by the temptations of this world, his grace and mercy, and forgiveness is so good. “Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!” - Psalm 107:1
