What was life like before you met Jesus?

Before I met Jesus I was angry and bitter person. I was lacking hope, peace, faith, grace, and mercy in my life. I tried to rely on the things of the world to give me hope and seek happiness from.

How did you meet Jesus?

I started attending Veritas in March 2016 and I knew I needed to be there but I didn’t absorb anything on Sundays or open my Bible during the week, I was there just to be there. In 2017 I met my now husband and he started coming to church with me even though he didn’t believe in God. In 2020 when we got engaged our faith and perspective slowly changed to start abiding in God's word. This journey to marriage led me more and more to Christ. In 2022 we started the journey to our now daughter. It was a very difficult journey and I had no choice but to rely on Jesus. I relied heavily on Ephesians 2:8-9 which says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” and Philippians 4:6-7 which says, “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?

Christ has softened my heart and helped me to focus on him and his glory versus focusing on myself. Focusing on eternal life has helped me to be less anxious. Knowing that God's plan is the ultimate plan and he will not lead me astray. He knows what I need and will provide always. Jesus died for me.

John 3:16 - “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

Romans 10:9-10 - “because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”
