🌟 The Highlights

  • You’re a vital bridge between people and care. You’re not “just” an admin. You’re connecting people to Gospel Shepherds, managing processes that keep people from falling through the cracks, and making sure care is timely and intentional.
  • You get to help people in their most vulnerable moments. You’ll often be the first person someone speaks with when they’re asking for help. Your words, tone, and response can set the tone for healing and connection.
  • You get to support leaders who are discipling others. You’ll help equip and coordinate Gospel Shepherds, making sure they have what they need to do meaningful care ministry.
  • You’ll see the fruit of God’s work in people’s lives. Over time, you’ll watch brokenness give way to healing. You’ll help people move from isolation to re-engagement in community. You get a front row seat to real Gospel transformation.
  • You get to bring order to a deeply human, often messy ministry. When shepherding is happening well, it’s often invisible—but your work behind the scenes is what makes it sustainable.

⚠️ The Hard Stuff

  • You’ll hear heavy stories. Some days will be emotionally weighty. People are often hurting when they come to us, and you’ll need to be compassionate without being overwhelmed.
  • You’ll need to keep track of a lot of moving pieces. People, processes, meetings, care plans, volunteer teams—it takes strong organization and follow-through to keep everything running well.
  • You'll be doing ministry behind the scenes. This isn’t a platform role. Much of your impact will be unseen. You’ll need to be content serving without a spotlight.
  • You’ll be managing both systems and people. That means staying flexible—some days will be very administrative, others highly relational. You’ll need to switch gears quickly.

🔧 The Setup

  • Why is this role needed? Gospel Shepherding and care at Veritas have grown. We need someone who can carry the weight of coordination so our leaders can focus on discipleship and shepherding.
  • Onboarding support: You’ll be trained and supported by the staff team. You’ll also receive tools, templates, and systems—but you’ll need to make them your own and improve them over time.
  • Team structure: You’re a part of the Adult Ministries team, reporting directly to the Biblical Counseling Pastor and working cross-functionally with various ministry leaders.

🧭 Environment & Culture

  • Work hours: Part-time, generally Monday–Thursday, with occasional evening or weekend needs for care meetings or events. Some remote work is possible, but in-person ministry presence is essential.
  • Work space: Office-based with collaborative work alongside the Adult Ministry team.
  • Culture quirks:
    • We lead with both truth and grace.
    • We expect high integrity and follow-through, even in quiet roles.
    • You’ll be asked to lead yourself well emotionally and spiritually.
    • You’ll need to be as comfortable working in a database as you are talking with someone in tears.
    • We believe in proactive, not reactive, ministry.

🧨 If You’re Not a Fit…This may not be the role for you if:

  • You’re uncomfortable dealing with emotionally heavy or complex personal issues.
  • You struggle to follow through on administrative details or forget to circle back.
  • You find it difficult to say no or set boundaries when people are in need.
  • You want to be upfront, teaching or leading large groups—this role is more behind-the-scenes care and coordination.

✅ If You’re a Fit…

This could be a perfect fit if:

  • You feel called to care for others but also love making systems work.
  • You’re emotionally steady and spiritually mature, with a heart for hurting people.
  • You can think like a shepherd and act like a project manager.
  • You want to be part of a church that values Gospel-centered transformation, not just good programs.
  • You’re energized by being the glue that holds care and coordination together.
