1 Thessalonians: Hopeful motivation for holy living.
Veritas, I am so excited to start into our new book study of 1 Thessalonians. Can you imagine starting up a church in a new city and in less than a month having a mob run you out of town? This is what happened to Paul in Thessalonica (Acts 17). However, the church showed remarkable strength, being made up of mostly Gentile converts from heathenism and facing a very pagan and hostile environment they were growing in their faith. This letter is a follow up letter to this new church providing for them some encouragement and instruction for what Christian living should look like. It is a letter that gives us hopeful motivation for holy living.
