Before Jesus Changed My Life

I grew up in the church and have known that Jesus died for my sins and reconciled me back to God, but I didn't live this out in my daily life. My life was all about me. I was very self-centered, and certainly not living to honor and glorify God. While trying to be a "good person", I lived in sin and sought happiness and joy from the world through control, self-centeredness, hobbies, social media, etc., rather than finding joy and belonging in God.

How Jesus Changed My Life

The specific moment my faith journey began was January 20, 2023. The Holy Spirit came to me in a moment of need and left me with a calling to follow Him and love others. In my distress I called upon the Lord; to my God I cried for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears (Psalm 18:6). This blessed experience started a faith journey that has led me to evaluate my life, confront my sin, challenge my view of God, and change my response to Jesus. If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17).

My Life After Jesus Saved Me

I have a freedom in Christ that I didn't have before. A new purpose in life, not being focused on myself but a focus on glorifying God. A reshuffling of priorities continues to take place. Joy and belonging not in the things of the world, but of my gracious and merciful God. A growing relationship with Jesus. The journey continues, a lifetime of walking toward Jesus. For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God...BUT God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life (Romans 3:23; John 3:16).
