Before Jesus Changed My Life
I spent the majority of my time and energy hyper-focused on my job and my career. I was regularly overwhelmed with work stress and tried to control too much. I valued status and the opinions of others more than anything. I sought out more earthly desires, such as money and alcohol to temporarily make me feel happy.
How Jesus Changed My Life
Last year, I witnessed my husband publicly accept Jesus Christ as his Savior when he was baptized at Veritas. Seeing God work in him to lead our family spiritually stirred up a hope and trust I hadn't experienced before. I cast my worries and anxieties to God during prayer and trusted that he already had a plan. Finally understanding God is in control of all things brought me peace I never felt before. I began frequently reciting Psalms 23:4 "Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me." I began to crave the glory that comes from God more than the glory from men (John 12:43). I developed a desire to read God's word and to seek his Kingdom, rather than seeking temporary fleshly desires. I learned how amazing the Gospel is - Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice to die for our sins AND rose again, so that we can be reconciled with God and have everlasting life in heaven. Jesus suffered and died for our sins to bring us to God. (1 Pet 3:18). Also, Romans 10:9 “If you confess Jesus is Lord and believe from our heart God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Saving faith and salvation through Christ includes the holy spirit transforming your heart. I prayed for a clean heart and a renewed spirit (Psalm 51:10) All of these changes were made by the Holy Spirit. God answered my prayers.
My Life After Jesus Saved Me
After Jesus saved me, my hope is now placed in Him and his kingdom. He died for our sins and rose again. He reconciles us back to God, and is our salvation. He is so powerful and in ultimate control. From reading the gospels to seeing Him work in people's lives today, it continues to put me in awe of his love and authority. He deserves all of the praise and glory. There is no other love like the love God has given us. His son died for us, and rose again, so we could have everlasting life in heaven. No earthly struggle could ever compare to an eternal life with Jesus Christ.
