What was life like before you met Jesus?

I thought I could choose the path for my life and God would come alongside and bless, shape, mold those choices into His plan. My life was lacking in patience for God to show me His will for my life. I would make decisions too quickly, without full discernment and direction from God, with what I thought was conviction from my heart, but not in line with God's word.

How did you meet Jesus?

God used trials in my life to bring me to fully surrender and give my hopes and dreams over to Christ and His will for my life.I have experienced humility by not waiting long enough for Gods response to prayer, for His will and plan to reveal itself. I am now more fully trusting that His plan continually reveals itself.

Galatians 2:20 says “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

There are many parts of the gospel that I lean into to grow my faith, trust and surrender to our Father. The verse that has recently spoken to me as I continue to walk with Christ is Hebrews 11:1 which says, “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?

Thanks be to God for the experiences that have led me closer and closer to Him, for the true surrender of my earthly desires for His eternal desires. Being active in Christian community has allowed me to see more of God’s will for my life and the specific things he is calling me to. John 15:4 says, “Abide in me and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.”
