What was life like before you met Jesus?
When I was younger, I was not obedient to my parents or loving to my siblings. I stole a lot of stuff from my family. Sometimes, when I was frustrated, I would break things and hit people. I would run away and hide because I couldn’t control my emotions. I had a lot of anger in my heart towards everyone. I went to counseling to try fixing the problem, but it didn’t address the root issue. I hated going to church because I thought it was pointless. Even at a young age, I sometimes refused to go to church.
How did you meet Jesus?
At youth camp in 2022, we were done singing the final session. When I realized I could sing forever and praise God in Heaven. That was the first time I encountered God. Then at youth camp in 2023, I decided to give my life to Christ. Near the end of one of the sessions, the speaker prayed for us and I felt the Holy Spirit. That feeling continued through the worship service that followed. Later that night, we had another worship service. During this time, I fell to my knees and worshiped God. It was at this time that I gave my life to Christ. I gave my life to Christ because I wanted to live the rest of my life for Him.
Psalm 104:33 means a lot to me, “I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being.”
Psalm 59:16-17 says, “But I will sing of your strength; I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning. For you have been to me a fortress and a refuge in the day of my distress. O my Strength, I will sing praises to you, for you, O God, are my fortress, the God who shows me steadfast love.”
After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?
Since meeting Jesus, my anger has changed a lot. I have noticed a change in areas where I would become frustrated or be rude to my siblings. I enjoy going to church and worshiping God. I know that I will go to Heaven because in John 3:16, Jesus says, “...whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”
