What was life like before you met Jesus?

Before I met Christ, I took identity upon myself. I always identified as a believer but I didn't truly trust in God's plan for me. Life was all about control. Making the right move, getting the promotion, and earning more money. Joy and identity came from MY success as a result of MY 'hard work.' I was thankful for Jesus and the forgiveness of my sins, but I didn't know what it truly meant to lead a Christian life; not trust and faith in what God can teach me and his plan for me.

How did you meet Jesus?

Jesus decided it was time to bring me close to him and open my eyes to how he walks beside me. After many years of passively attending Veritas, my wife and I decided it was time we stopped making excuses, and we joined a connection group. From the first meeting with that group, the way I viewed my life and relationship with Jesus changed. I formed many strong relationships and my bond grew stronger with God. Then a few months into this group life got hard. I was broken. My group encouraged me to trust in God's plan and trust that he is teaching me in this time of trial. I believe God not only God provided this trial for me to bring me closer to him but he placed the tools in my life to guide and encourage me along the way.

After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?

After meeting Jesus, I have a new perspective on life, what it means to be a Christian, and my relationship with God. I now know that I need to focus on being a Christian first. I find my identity in God first, and I am open to how God plans to use me for his good. I am motivated by God’s grace to be humble and loyal. I know that I can have faith and not fear, because God will provide what my family and I need.
