What was life like before you met Jesus?

I used to not put my faith in God but looked to the things of the world for love, acceptance, and belonging. I felt alone and desperate, I wanted to feel numb.

How did you meet Jesus?

When visiting my sister and talking about Jesus, I had a feeling that I wanted to know more, a burning desire to know God. I started going to church, and when I sang his songs, I felt hope, joy, and love, something I’d never felt before.

After going to church for a short time, my nephew passed away. During that time, I felt closer to God than ever. Something in my soul knew that God was there and that my nephew was going home. I asked God to come into my heart, and I trusted in Jesus, that he loves me and forgives me for my sins.

After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?

My life is different. I have faith in Him instead of the things I looked to before. I don’t feel alone anymore. I know that He is always by my side. I have a family and connection to others at church. I read my Bible and pray. I know that Jesus leads me to righteousness.

Psalms 28:7 “The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.”
