Before Jesus Changed My Life

I grew up in a faith-based family. We went to church every Sunday, participated in all the rituals, and “prayed” the rosary every day. I knew that God sent his only Son to die for my sins. I never read the Bible and did not have a relationship with the Lord. My lifestyle reflected this behavior. Then, in one year, three very close people to me died…My sister, my boyfriend, and my mother. The night I buried my mom, I called out to God in anger. Why did he do this to me and how could I get through it? That evening I felt God’s loving arms wrapped around me and he told me everything was going to be ok.

How Jesus Changed My Life

Many years passed, and God put my husband Jay into my life. Together Jay and I worked on our relationship with God, we started a family and wanted them to grow up in a faith-based family. We attended a church and were active members but still, something was missing. We never made God our priority. We decided we needed a church that was more Biblically sound. Romans 12:2 says, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” That is when God guided us to Veritas

My Life After Jesus Saved Me

Seven years ago we started attending services at Veritas. This is where and when God opened my eyes. I decided that I wanted a relationship with the Lord. I started reading the Bible more, praying and I made connections with other Christians God put in my life through our connection group. My hope is found in the Lord! “Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct.” (1 Peter 1:13-14) “Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord; O my soul! While I live I will praise the Lord; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.” ( Psalm 146: 1-2) I know that I have eternal life through Jesus Christ because John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” Because of God’s grace, I am saved!
