What was life like before you met Jesus?

I grew up in a Christian family, going to church every Sunday. I was happy, but it was a temporary happiness that wasn’t fulfilling. I sought out other things for happiness, such as sports and friends, leaving barely any time for Christ.

How did you meet Jesus?

During one summer at church camp, I felt God touch my heart during the evening service. He had the thought pop up in my mind, why can’t I have the peace and joy others have around me? I knew that the only way to have this was to accept Christ into my life to experience the peace and joy God gives to us when we trust in him. A verse that reminds me of this is Romans 5:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.“ I poured out my heart, repenting for the sins that I had committed, and acknowledged and thanked God for sending his one and only son to die for me. knowing I didn’t deserve God's grace, I told him I wanted to live my life for him.

After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?

After being saved I can now have peace in my heart and overflowing joy in any circumstance. I trust the Lord with all my heart. He has changed me forever. Even though I often do not know what the Lord wants me to do, I turn to the Bible, seek answers, and pray. I still do not know my future and plans but I know to trust in God and let his will be done and that he will always support me and he loves me. Psalms 85:8 ”I listen carefully to what God the Lord is saying, for he speaks peace to his faithful people. But let them not return to their foolish ways.“
