Before Jesus Changed My Life

Before Jesus changed my life, I was living a life for the world instead of for Christ. I would constantly look for validation through worldly things and thought that my value came through how well I performed in school, sports, and how liked I was by everyone around me. I would look for happiness and peace through those worldly things as well. I would only find temporary enjoyment in those things and once I realized this is when I knew something had to change.

How Jesus Changed My Life

Once I realized that the things I was using to bring me happiness and peace were only temporary things and were not going to get me anywhere in life is when I realized that something needed to change in my life. Around the end of my freshman year of college I realized this, but I did not do a ton to change right away. I cut out the people and the things that were keeping me away from God which also led to me transferring schools. Being able to attend Salt and having a connection group has helped me so much in growing my relationship with God. That is when I felt my heart change for the better and like I had a true relationship with Jesus. I have always gone to church and have read my Bible for years but have never applied it to my life and meditated on His Word. My connection group leaders and the Salt staff have done a really good job at explaining how to and why we should meditate on His word and that has helped a ton. Jesus has placed people in my life that have helped me to continually grow my relationship with Him. God-loving people are the kind of people that I’ve never had a ton of surrounding me growing up so being surrounded by them now is amazing and something I really cherish. Jesus has shown me that I have a stronger purpose on this earth than fulfilling worldly desires, that I don’t need to look to the world anymore for my source of happiness but I can find all that I need in Him and Him alone. Jesus has changed my life because He forgives. No matter how many times I mess up, His love for me will never fail and He will always love me.

My Life After Jesus Saved Me

After giving my life to Christ, I can find joy and peace in God alone. I do not find myself looking to the world for validation or to make me happy and bring me joy, but I look to God instead because He is the only one who can bring me that true joy that is eternal and not only temporary. I know I have eternal life through Jesus Christ because I have placed my faith in Him and believe He died on the cross for my sins.
