What was life like before you met Jesus?

I was immature. I grew up going to church, and in a Christian family, so I knew all the right answers but didn’t actually care or believe any of it. I did not see a problem with my sin and saw it as part of me. The way I acted towards others and myself, you could tell, was lost.

How did you meet Jesus?

I started having a relationship with Jesus at a summer camp sometime in Middle School. That is when I realized there was more than just knowing the right answers and saying you’re a Christian to other people. Realizing that because of my individual sin, God had to send Jesus down to live a perfect life and die on the cross for me because of my sin, but now I can have a relationship with him because of it. “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Cor. 5:21)

After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?

My life now is completely different. There is intention to the things I do in my day to day. From as small as the schoolwork and homework I do to my job or in the gym. I do things for God because, without him, I would be nothing and have nothing. I am more caring to myself and others. People notice there is something different and that I have a different purpose in my everyday life. Living to glorify God in everything I do, having a heart focused on him, and projecting an outward love to others because while I was still sinning, he died to save me and everyone. “but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Rom. 5:8)
