What was life like before you met Jesus?
Before I became a believer I would look to people and material things to find my happiness and comfort. But nothing was ever enough I would continue to look to the next thing to make me happy.
How did you meet Jesus?
I became friends with a co-worker who was a believer. She and her husband were so welcoming and willing to help us and others when in need. They had invited us to join them at church multiple times and this one Sunday we decided to go. When we walked into the church everyone was so welcoming, after that 1st Sunday we just continued to go back. The more I learned about God and what He has done for us the more I would seek Him out when I was feeling lost or in need of comfort. A verse I often refer to is 2 Corinthians 12:9 “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” I have seen God at work through the trials I have faced over the last few years. Even when I don’t fully understandwhy they happened, I know what God is at work and He is with me.
After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?
During the trials I face I see God working. Before I became a believer I often felt like bad things happened because God didn’t love me, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. God is always with me and who I turn to when I am feeling lost or in need of guidance. But he is also who I turn to when good things happen as well because God is in control of everything. John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” Before I became a Christian I believed the only way to enteral life was through my good works but I was never good enough I would always fail. But now I know the only way to enteral life is through Jesus.
