What was life like before you met Jesus?
Growing up, my parents took me to church every Sunday. I knew who Jesus was and the wonderful things he does, but I never really understood the background and sacrifices that he has made for me. I was lacking the confidence to ask someone to help me understand the word better.
How did you meet Jesus?
I went through a really trying time during my senior year of high school. I was questioning my self-worth, and I was very fearful of my future once I graduated. Intellectually I knew Jesus and what he has done for me, but after attending SALT and Veritas, I have felt him in my heart and I’ve seen him working in my life! Going through this rough time in my life, I started turning to Jesus because I knew I couldn't continue without him. "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11) This verse stuck out to me and made me aware that I didn't have to fear anymore about the future.
After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?
Jesus has helped me tremendously through the beginning stages of starting college and moving away from home. With Jesus by my side, it went much better than I could've imagined. I've joined community-based groups and have met many amazing people throughout these opportunities. As a believer, I know that Jesus is by my side and fighting my battles for me. “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” (1 John 5:13)
