What was life like before you met Jesus?
Before Jesus, as a kid all I could remember were my parents fighting, I was seeking validation from the world, and putting my identity in being an artist. I would rant to my peers about certain situations, and never go to God for advice. I was lacking peace and true meaning in my life, I was mad at certain situations that have happened in my life. I would also be anxious about almost every situation.
How did you meet Jesus?
I was taking an art history class, and I needed to write an essay on an artwork of my choice. I picked the painting "The Last Supper" by Leonardo Da Vinci. I knew certain parts of the story on the Last Supper, but I needed to know the full story so I could write this essay. When writing the essay one night, I was stressed and anxious about getting the essay done on time. I felt Jesus come down to me and comfort me. It felt like a warm hug. A verse that has always stuck out to me is Matthew 6:34. "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?
I have begun to trust him more and seek Him when I need Him. In trusting Him, my anxiety and stress has slowly faded away. I have also been going to more trusted adults and friends who share the same faith as me for advice. Recently, I wrote an essay for an art history class before going to Fall Retreat and I didn't know that I would get it done in time, but it all worked out. I have since started to trust God more. "Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life." John 6;47-48
