What was life like before you met Jesus?
Before Christ, I was searching for satisfaction and fulfillment. The world and its attention gave me satisfaction, but it was only temporary. Searching for these things put me in a state of loneliness and fear.
How did you meet Jesus?
While I was in the darkness, I decided to go to church. The “why” behind this decision still goes unanswered since I had no desire to go. I went to church strictly to feel something other than the things I was indulging in. I didn't end up feeling much, but I gained something: hope. I had a hope to be changed. I started to read the Bible on my own and pray. Then, out of nowhere, I received an offer to work as a counselor for a youth ministry. A huge part of me didn’t want to because I was uneducated and unequipped, but I decided to go anyway. If this was an opportunity from God, I didn’t want to miss it. Being surrounded by a child-like faith healed my heart and helped strengthen my belief. After the summer camp, I started focusing on my faith and building my life on Jesus Christ. “The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.” Isaiah 58:11
After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?
As I built a relationship with Christ, I still struggled with relying on Earthly desires. I didn’t even think of giving these things to Christ because I was scared of letting go of them. After a long prayer, I was changed. The weight was lifted, and I was free. I feel satisfied when I rely on God instead of the world. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares The Lord, “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11. I have peace in knowing God’s in control and I can rely on Him. God sent His only son to save me, and I received eternal life through that sacrifice. Now that I’m made new, I will build my life upon The Father and The Word. I am saved.
