What was life like before you met Jesus?
Before Jesus, I chased all the wrong things and searched for my satisfaction in the world. I tried to use temporary things to find happiness, but they always fell short, never giving me permanent joy. I knew about Jesus, but I had never truly put my trust in him.
How did you meet Jesus?
I truly met Jesus at Salt Conference 2024, where I finally gave up my life to Jesus. It was made very clear that Jesus loves me, and eternal life and happiness are found in him. This was completely different from what I was finding in worldly things. I felt a happiness overcome me when I finally turned myself over to God that I had never previously felt. Luke 23:42-43 became clear in my life. “And he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.” Like the thief on the cross, I had never done anything to earn God’s love. Instead I was being offered the free gift of eternal life by Jesus. When I really saw what Jesus had for me, the burden and searching was over. I felt so relieved to have found what I had been longing for!
After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?
Now that I have been saved, I want others to find what I have found. I pray frequently that those around me will feel the love of Jesus that I have felt. That their searching would be over too. Because Jesus has been so sweet, sin is bitter to me. I care about God’s commandments like never before and long for the life God has for me. Ephesians 2:8 says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not by your own doing; it is a gift of God.” This verse tells anyone that no matter their past, they can be saved if they put their faith in God. I know that I did none of this on my own, the Holy Spirit set everything right in front of me to give me the opportunity to have eternal life with Christ, and this can be the reality for you too!
