What was life like before you met Jesus?
Growing up, I always knew about God but never truly had a relationship with Him. I attended church during the holidays, but I never prioritized my faith. I relied on external factors for my happiness rather than finding it in Christ. I always worried about the future and tried to please everyone around me.
How did you meet Jesus?
It wasn't until college when I started to attend SALT on Thursday evenings and got invited into Christian community. Seeing the love that my peers had for the Lord inspired me to find my own relationship with Christ. Knowing that Jesus lived a perfect life and died on the cross for my sins was enough reason for me to give my life to Him. 1 John 4:10 says, "This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins." For when I did not know God, He still loved me.
After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?
After putting my faith in Jesus, I have been overwhelmed with joy. I no longer fear the future because I know my plan is in God's hands. I don't compare myself to others because the only approval that I need is from God, who loves each of us equally. My whole perspective on life has changed and I no longer let the trials in my life tear me down, but I use them to grow closer to God. For I know that He is my firm foundation and will never fail me. After being saved by Jesus, I have learned how to be more loving, forgiving, patient, and faithful. I'm so happy to take this next step in my relationship with Christ whom I have eternal life with. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)
